THE HOURS FOR THIS POSITION MAXIMIZE DURING PEAK PERIODS DECEMBER 1 – MARCH 31 FOR SNOW REMOVAL AND WINTER CONTROL
Perform any and all Public Works general labour and associated operation of general labour equipment as required;
Work safely, efficiently and responsibly;
Recognize deficiencies or unsafe situations, conditions and report to the Assistant Supervisor;
Check, lubricate, refuel and clean any and all equipment within your care, and report any malfunctions to the Assistant Supervisor;
Work in the spirit of team participation while performing any and all duties of a Driver Labourer within Public Works;
Perform all aspects of Winter Control operations, including plowing and/or salting sanding operations, with a 5 and/or 8 ton plow truck on roads and streets, and/or sidewalk plow on sidewalks and walkways;
You will perform any and all Public Works various tasks and duties as required.
Skills & Experience / Compétences & expérience
Able to perform the essential duties of the job;
Ability to work outside in inclement weather conditions and perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner;
Ability to interact with the public in a polite manner;
Thorough knowledge and the ability to operate general labour equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner;
Must be willing to work any and/or all shifts, as may be required;
Demonstrated ability to perform under stressful conditions;
Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Record Check), at own expense.
