INVISTA has set the goal of sustaining a world-class level of performance and we are looking for the right Intern candidate with a high motivation and ambitious drive to join our Technical team in Kingston, Ontario. 
What you do:
We are currently seeking an internship student for a process engineer role providing support to our manufacturing facilities at Kingston Site.  This role is based in the Industrial Fibres Technical Team, focusing on innovating and advancing the site’s airbag fibre production (spinning) processes. 

To be successful in this position you must be results driven, able to work well under pressure and have excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills. Your primary responsibilities will include technical process support and project management, and you will require strong problem-solving and analytical skills.  The specific projects and programs assigned will depend on the background, interests and strengths of the successful candidate, but could include:
  • Automating existing process steps and manual tasks
    • Adding/upgrading sensors, cameras, vision systems to eliminate routine, manual area checks
    • Using data analytics to identify value creation opportunities or eliminate routine analysis tasks
    • Improving dashboarding to better guide Operations decisions
  • Leading/supporting trials to advance yield, quality or product development
    • Testing new hardware on the spinning faceplate
    • Identifying opportunities and implementing process improvements
  • Leading/supporting capital projects to scale-up successful experiments
  • Providing technical support to troubleshoot production issues
Above all you must ensure that all your activities are carried out with integrity and in a safe and efficient manner.

• Currently enrolled in a University Engineering Intern degree program
• Able to contribute positively in a team-oriented environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage effectively in both individual and team-oriented roles
with a minimum of supervision.
• Demonstrated initiative, identifying opportunities and acting on them
• Able to work within a manufacturing environment
