Our team is currently seeking Buyer/Planner to join our Gananoque Team on a full time basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Supply Chain team to deliver Net Requirement targets for the Site
  • Work with the Supply Chain team to help the plant achieve Schedule Attainment targets
  • Work with the Supply Chain team to deliver on cost savings through Efficiency and cost reduction projects
  • Plan, purchase and expedite components, raw materials and service for manufacturing departments
  • Procurement of all company operational materials, supplies and contractual services
  • Ensure that the materials are available on time at the agreed upon price
  • Adjust or work with site planner to adjust production plans in order ensure production maintains throughput
  • Collaborates with Planner to ensure Shop Orders are available for production departments
  • Collaborates with Planner to learn and develop strong systems for Supply chain management
  • Backs up planner when needed
  • Collaborate with Global Trade to ensure timely delivery of Materials
  • Collaborate with Sourcing to approve new suppliers in accordance with procedures and policies
  • Lead/Investigate discrepancies on supply agreements and pricing agreements
  • Lead activities that may be related to new supplier qualifications
  • Lead & coordinate onsite supplier meetings and deliver presentation where necessary
  • Ensure FIFO and maintain Min/Max inventory levels in the Gananoque warehouse
  • Assist in the control and disposition of obsolete material
  • Lead specific actions related to Supplier corrective action response of Rejected material
  • Attend planning and cost savings meetings where necessary
  • Learn and Maintain the systems (BPCS/SAP) with accurate and timely information
  • Follow and participate in safety, quality, cost management programs

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTIBUTES

•Experience in manufacturing and supply chain
•Formal training and certification – experience will play an important role however formal certification may be required within the first year in the role
•Analytical and Organized
•Attention to detail
•Knowledge of MRP systems (SAP, BPCS)

Qualifications:

EDUCATION
•Post secondary education preferred
•Bachelors degree in Business or Supply Chain
•Certification in PMAC and APICS accreditation – or willing to complete certification within 1 year of holding the position
