TITLE: INTAKE: Temporary 18 month contract - FULL TIME – COUNSELLOR 1 POSITION

DEPARTMENT: CLINICAL

HOURS OF WORK: 35 HOURS PER WEEK

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Intake Worker Performs as the first point of contact for clients, assessing needs and making referrals or appointments for the appropriate staff or community services. The incumbent provides intake counselling services under the direct supervision of the Director of Clinical Programming. The Intake Worker provides administrative support to the clinical staff and assists other program support staff as required. The intake worker would work primarily with our EAP program. This is a 1-year contract full time (35 hours per week) position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 B.A./SSW or equivalent combination of education and experience is essential.
 Bilingual (French-English) is preferred.
 Successful Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check is required.

Experience
 One to three years of clinical experience would be an asset.
 Previous intake experience would be an asset.

Job Requirements
 A high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
 Knowledge of and experience with community stakeholders in the Kingston and surrounding area.
 Must be able to provide contact over the phone or in person when necessary.
 Familiarity with the Child and Family Services Act.
 Experience in Crisis Intervention and Safety Planning would be an asset.
 Familiarity with using a variety of computer programs
