Summary:This position provides support and assistance as required to the Resident Activities department, performing a variety of assigned tasks in accordance with Providence Care’s Mission, Vision and Values, operational policies and procedures, and standards of practice as set out by the supervising Recreation Therapist.

Skills & Experience / Compétences & expérience

• Education & Experience: Key Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Must be a full-time student from an
• Approved College/University in any
• of the following:
• Therapeutic Recreation,
• Recreation, Activation,
• Gerontology
• Knowledge of Therapeutic Recreation and/or recreation and leisure
• Implementation and evaluation of individual and group programs suited to the
• individual needs of the participants
• Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to work as a team player.
• Professional work attitude and behaviours in interaction with internal and external
• contacts
• Effectiveness as a team member through collaboration, respect and communication
• Client-centred attitude and commitment to the Mission, Vision, Values and goals of the
• department/program and of Providence Care
• Demonstrated basic computer skills including ability to use electronic communication
• devices
• Proven ability to work with minimum supervision
• Good attendance
• Demonstrated understanding and commitment to health and safety policies,
• procedures and applicable legislation
• Bilingual (English and French) preferred
• Satisfactory criminal-record and vulnerable-sector screens
