Canteen Attendants operate an onboard café/canteen that provides food and beverage service to our guests during sightseeing cruises. This includes snacks, light meals, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and general maintenance of guest areas of the vessel.
Tasks include: proper opening and closing of the canteen including maintaining a cash float, following end-of-day procedures, completing necessary paperwork, and preparing deposits. Throughout a shift, you will be responsible for inventory tracking and ordering, completing all cleaning procedures, operating the POS system, anticipating and responding to guest needs, and delivering high service standards.
This position is the most independent of all Onboard Hospitality positions, and requires high levels of responsibility and initiative.
Skills & Experience / Compétences & expérience
All crew must understand the context of hospitality onboard ships and undergo marine orientation by the ship’s Captain before their first shift. Heavy lifting is occasionally required.
Proficiency in languages other than English is an asset.
